Добавлен 25 июн 2017
I'm fascinated by all things nature: backyards, forests, streams, beaches, wherever. (Except the groundhog in my vegetable garden. He just makes me mad.) Find more nature photos and videos on Twitter, Instagram and Bluesky.
Wetland Wildlife!
The Wetlands Institute in Stone Harbor, New Jersey is absolutely filled with wildlife: nesting birds like Green Herons, Laughing Gulls and Red-winged Blackbirds, Horseshoe Crabs looking for a spot to deposit their eggs and same for the Diamondback Terrapin turtles. A two hours trip there was filled with wonderful sights!

Spring Turtle Shenanigans
Просмотров 84Месяц назад
The turtles were out and about at the wetlands this week! Walking around like they own the place, basking, trying to climb with the usual challenges, trying to mate and being rebuffed. Being a turtle looks like a challenge, at least as a human who is used to having decent mobility. Then again, they have built in armor! Want to see more? Bird Migration
Просмотров 126Месяц назад

Here's a celebration of this event, showing some of the birds who migrate and a little about when and how. Want to learn more about my work? See photos and exclusive videos? Pl...

Red-winged Blackbirds are fierce and loud but also beautiful and great parents. Meet the protective dad, the quieter mom and their scrawny but adorable babies. I love the call of these birds in particular because they herald the return of spring as they claim territories for nesting. Taken with a long lens from across the water so I didn't disturb the nest. Late winter in Pennsylvania means it's Wood Frog time! They come out of the woods to vernal pools and ponds and mate. Then they leave behind the eggs and go back out into the world. That little “Oh!” when the wave hit the crab. ❤
Love that you captured the sound.

Beautiful footage! Thank you!
So precious! The elites want to build onshore and offshore wind turbine surrounding these guys in Newfoundland. We are trying to stop them but one does not simply win against the elites.
It was so fun to hear your voice! I miss it.
The birds, etc were comfortable with you around
That's a lovely thought!

very nice!❤
they are so graceful.. and mesmerizing ❤
Mesmerizing is exactly right!
How fantastic! Lucky you 😍
I saw this many bathing in a wetland pool outside of Albany, OR! It was incredible 😍🦅
I’m telling you, the native Americans observed and copied the actions and looks of the animals.
Anyone who thinks at all and observes nature at all knows that evolution is a lie. All of this beauty, splendor, seasonal knowledge in animals (many directed by the localities of the constellations), spells out clearly that there is a God who lives eternally, who created perfection and who guides it in every detail. How can we NOT worship a Being like that?
Saw a few Buffs! They are the cutest and smallest ducks in the U.S.
Nice video Keep them coming!
Thank you! I try to have a new one every Saturday
I live near Brockway Mountain in Copper Harbor Michigan. That is in the path of the Birds of Prey Migration. WOW...is THAT incredible. I had a flock of red tailed hawks fly up behind me...I felt wings on my head...was that the coolest....also watched Eagles Kettling...that was a gift from the Good Lord himself!
That sounds incredible!
That was Southwest and I last year
I love Red-winged Blackbirds! 🥰
Nice video. One of Belinda Carlisle's albums has the call of the Redwinged Blackbird as the last track.
wow! i had no idea they were so brave, that footage of them scaring off the bigger birds is really cool
It's a remarkable thing to see!
one of my favs!❤
They're so impressive!
Thank you for another wonderful video! I've been warned a few times myself by Redwings not to get too close!
You're very welcome! Yeah, they'll literally go after anyone. It's amazing
Love butterflies. I'm working on trying to get as many butterflies in my border as possible.
A fabulous goal!
The shot of your shadow with the rope at the edge of the protected area made me laugh. 🥰 Beautiful puffballs!
I want to make it clear I'm not disturbing them! I'm glad it made you laugh. 😊
Heard the loudest pileated woodpecker drumming ever this last weekend - he had an enormous old cedar and it just BOOMED. ❤️ Thank you for the lovely video!
That's awesome! You're very welcome. 😊
I look forward to your videos every week. Lovely! And that poor RW blackbird. 😂

very peaceful, thanks for sharing! the animals are lovelyy
Thank you very much! It's my pleasure
Wow what a wonderful place, i wish i could visit
It's a wildlife refuge near Philadelphia in case you ever visit that area. It's marvelous!
I live in Washington state, and I see red-winged blackbirds all around during Spring. I always loved how their bright red & yellow “shoulder blades” contrast with the rest of their jet-black bodies.
They're so striking!
That was a very cool video! It was great to see the woodpeckers in action. And, I liked seeing how the woodpecker made holes in the tree for nesting. You are a wonderful videographer to capture such intricate details!
Oh thank you so much!
How cute🥹 Thanks so much for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Look at that tongue go!
So busy checking out the world!
You have a lovely spot down by the creek, it must be very calming.
It's a great place to be. Especially after a long winter when it was mostly very quiet. It's wonderful to have wildlife everywhere now!
Thanks for taking us on these journeys with you!
It's my pleasure! Thank you for coming along.
Curious, how close were you to the adventuring snake?
I usually keep my distance from wildlife but this curious little one came towards me, flicking its little tongue. It probably got about 4 or 5 feet away. I told it that not all humans love snakes as much as I do and it should really be more cautious. lol
Thank you for another lovely video. Much appreciated!
It's my pleasure! Thank you 😊
